Your pet's consultation will include a full physical examination to check for any abnormalities or concerns. At this time the veterinarian will also be able to give you an estimate of any further treatment or surgery that your pet may require. Our consultations operate by appointment only, to minimise waiting times and help us serve you better. Please call us before visiting the clinic to make an appointment. For your pet's safety please arrive for your appointment with dogs on leads, and cats and small animals confined to cages. Parking is available at the back of the clinic, off Leigh Street.

We offer vaccination for cats, dogs, rabbits & ferrets. Our clinic strives to keep up to date with the latest vaccine developments, and we can therefore offer your pet a range of vaccination options according to your needs. A vaccination appointment for your pet will include a full physical examination by the veterinarian to detect any health problems. It will also give you the opportunity to discuss any other health care matters such as worming, flea control, diet, skin, dental, or behavioural problems. Please contact us to make an appointment.
New laws now require that all cats and dogs must be microchipped before being registered with a council for the first time. This means that all puppies and kittens, or older cats and dogs moving municipality, must be microchipped. Microchipping can be performed at the clinic by making an appointment. The procedure is performed by implanting a small chip (slightly larger in size than a single grain of rice) underneath the skin between the shoulder blades. Microchipping only causes minor discomfort, is a very quick procedure, and does not require an anaesthetic.

Routine elective surgeries are carried out during week days. We perform a range of surgical procedures including desexing, orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. Patients are admitted to the clinic in the morning for routine procedures, and usually discharged in the afternoon. Emergency procedures are dealt with as priority and can be performed anytime between 7am to 10pm 7 days a week.
In some cases, pets may need hospitalisation for on-going monitoring and/or treatment. We aim to take care of your pet as best we can, and keep you up to date with their progress. We encourage owners to bring along their pets usual bedding, diet, and preferred kitty litter to make their stay with us less stressful. In critical cases our patients may be referred to an animal emergency centre for overnight stay and continuous monitoring.
Dogs and cats cannot clean their teeth like we can, and so plaque and tartar gradually begin to form. The reddening, swelling and infection of the gums is called gingivitis. It's not just the smell that is the problem, the gums retract and cause pain and infection which will cause problems with eating, tooth decay, and if things get worse no teeth at all. Unfortunately pets are not good at sitting patiently with their mouths open, that is why they need a general anaesthetic to have the job done properly.
Our veternarian uses an ultrasonic scaler to remove calculus and plaque from the tooth surface, and teeth which are badly affected are removed. Your pet might need a short course of antibiotics to control infection. An initial consultation is required to assess your pet's general health, and provide you with an estimate for the dental procedure.

We have an in-house pathology lab which allows us to perform a number of diagnostic tests on site. Samples that require further testing are sent to an external laboratory for analysis by a pathologist.
Home visits are available by appointment. Any house call appointment required after hours will attract an after hour fee. Home visits are usually suited for vaccinations, euthanasia, or minor health concerns.
